Lauren ignited her passion for rowing in 2008 at Marietta HS as a first year varsity novice. Then, as a senior captain and third year varsity rower, she was recruited to multiple DI colleges across the country. A major back injury forced her to retire as a competitor and instead she attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati to pursue her passion of art. There, Lauren began volunteering and marshaling at local and national regattas. Interested in coaching, she began assisting at Cincinnati Country Day School in spring of 2016 and gained regional success. She relocated to Columbus in fall of 2016. She quickly joined the UA Crew staff and aided the women’s team in regional and national successes prior to becoming head coach in Summer of 2018.
When she’s not coaching or rowing, Lauren enjoys all outdoor activities, studying philosophy, playing guitar, writing, and Jeep rides through the country with her boyfriend Jacob.
