UA Crew Celebrates 25 Years!
UA Crew celebrated 25 years of rowing at Upper Arlington High School on March 24, 2018.  The evening was filled with special guests, fabulous food, alumni, boat christenings, donations, and more.
Special guests included Chris Swartz, head coach of UA Crew from 1993-2015, Ted Nemeth and Chris Klemek, founding members of UA Crew, and Blake Haxton, UA Crew alumnus and Paraolympic rower.
We christened 4 new Vespoli boats: The Hilda Marie, The Daredevil DC, The Ciao Bella AC, and The Chris Swartz.  The Hilda Marie was named by the Martin family after DalAnn's grandmother; Hilda is a Viking name for which the female version means battle and Marie which means lady of the sea.
A $25,000 donation was made to Upper Arlington Rowing Foundation, a non-profit started by Blake Haxton, which gives scholarships to UA Crew athletes.
Please enjoy the UA Crew 25th Anniversary Tribute Video created by Mariel Fix, whose talent truly captures the spirit of UA Crew.  Please also visit our 25 Years page for photos and more information.
